About the Federal Agency for Tourism

The Federal Agency for Tourism (Rosturizm) was established by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation in 2004. The Agency is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

• The main objectives of Rosturizm are: to ensure the implementation of state policy in the field of tourism
• to create favorable conditions for the development of the tourism industry
• to protect the rights and legitimate interests of tourists
• to promote the sustainable development of domestic, inbound, and outbound tourism
• to enhance the competitiveness of Russian tourism products on the world market.

• The Agency performs the following key functions: drafting and submitting proposals for the development of state policy and regulatory legal acts in tourism
• organizing the development and implementation of federal target programs
• providing state services in the field of tourism
• exercising control and supervision in the sphere of tourist activities
• maintaining the Unified Federal Register of Tour Operators
• accrediting organizations carrying out tour operator or travel agency activities
• participating in international tourism cooperation
• collecting and analyzing tourism statistics.

Rosturizm cooperates with regional authorities, tourism industry associations, educational institutions, research centers, and international organizations such as the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), and the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA).

The Agency regularly publishes analytical reports, statistical data, and information materials on the state and development prospects of the Russian tourism industry. These materials are available on the official website of Rosturizm in the relevant sections.
